Top 5 restaurants Near KCP Campus to get a Hamburger

When away from home, you’ll always be looking for something familiar to eat.  No matter how good Japanese food is, when you’re craving for a burger, you have to satisfy that hungry beast inside of you. The KCP Campus in Shinjuku has many accessible restaurants that serve all kinds of food from traditional Japanese eats, vegan food and yes, even good old Western hamburgers. Check out some of the burger restaurants near the KCP campus:

Lotteria Japan

Lotteria is a restaurant fast food chain originating in Tokyo.

The first branch opened in September 1972 with its name derived from its parent company, Lotte, a Korean-Japanese conglomerate. Lotteria’s menu includes typical Western fast food items such as burgers, fried potatoes, chicken wings, fried chicken, and chicken fingers.

MOS BURGER Shinjuku West Exit

In March, 1972, MOS BURGER founder Satoshi Sakurada started the first test hamburger restaurant in Narimasu, Tokyo. The burger chains one of the popular Japanese fast food that has been growing ever since, even outside of Japan. MOS GROUP’s corporate goal is to “make people happy through food.” MOS BURGER can give McDonald’s and Burger King some competion.

Burger Kitchen Chatty Chatty

Burger Kitchen CHATTY CHATTY or simply, CHATTY CHATTY, is nestled right around the corner from the KCP campus and north of Shinjuku Gyoen National Park.

It’s probably the most convenient place to grab a bite close to school.  Burger Kitchen CHATTY CHATTY is a small food joint with remarkably great food and delicious burgers that are not shy in size.

SHOGUN BURGER KABUKICHO 1st

Shogun Burger is one of the newer restaurants that opened in Shinjuku Kabukicho a little over a year ago, on October 29, 2018. It is a burger joint managed by a popular yakiniku chain restaurant called House Dai Shogun. The most popular choice at the restaurant is the double cheeseburger (¥1,400, +¥350 ) and it comes with fries and a drink. The restaurant takes pride in serving beef patties that are made with 100% wagyu beef. The patties are also cooked “smashed-style”, pressed hard on the grill top that makes the burgers extra tasty!

The 3rd Burger

The 3rd Burger’s selling point is their airy-yet-crispy-topped bun. The buns are baked in-store daily.

Aside from the regular burger and cheeseburger, The 3rd Burger makes special burgers with special ingredients such as komatsuna (a green Japanese leafy vegetable), tomato, and a wasabi tartar sauce.

Kua ‘Aina by Makaila Puhrmann, KCP

Kua ‘Aina, Ikebukuro Sunshine City

Kua ‘Aina is a burger joint not really close to the KCP campus but it is close to the Ikebukuro dorm. Sunshine City, a building complex in East Ikebukuro. It is Tokyo’s oldest city within a city and has a 240 meter tall Sunshine 60 skyscraper right at the center.

Kua ‘Aina is a Hawaiian-style hamburger joint with amazing Western portions. Kua ‘Aina’s first branch was located at a small town in Hawaii called Haleiwa. Their delicious food spread by word of mouth and soon it was frequented by many local surfers and people from all the way from the other side of the island. The tiny hamburger shop became one of the most popular places to dine. In 1997, the first Japanese shop in Aoyama, Tokyo opened, bringing a taste of Hawaii to Japan.
