I greatly enjoyed the 運動会 event with my classmates.
Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
I greatly enjoyed the 運動会 event with my classmates. At first, I was not enthused as team events with people I don't know can be stressful. However, I am so glad I participated! It ended up being very fun to cheer for my team.
What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?
I enjoyed the guests who would visit our class and converse with us. This allowed me to practice my Japanese with a native speaker and share my own culture with them. Additionally, I got to learn about my classmates customs as I listened to their conversations as well.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Drill practices and tests are always the most efficient way of studying for me. I personally can't remember anything unless I physically wright it down. Unfortunately, this means that conversation in small groups doesn't help me learn new grammar at first
Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?
Try your best to practice the conversations in class. These conversations will not only help you for future 会話 tests, but it will also direct you to what you should be studying in each chapter. Don't worry about repeating the conversation perfectly the first time, just try your best to stumble through what you know. It will help you to relate the new grammar to what you've already learned.
