The most interesting aspect was probably the opportunity to talk with Korean and Chinese students in Japanese. It was cool to use Japanese as a cultural bridge.

Hakone trip was definitely the most satisfying, being in an environment away from the busy city with my classmates was a great refresher and a nice time.

Extra small group sessions with a teacher were also very useful for answering specific questions and receiving deeper explanations of grammar nuances.

Make sure you already know hiragana and katakana very well and basic grammar before attending it will make your life easier.

Because there are many different languages spoken, I found it very fun and challenging to speak to classmates in a language we’re all learning.

I also enjoyed going to Enoshima. It was nice to interact with my classmates outside of class.

Anything that allows practice of new grammar and vocabulary in conversational setting felt very helpful. Likewise the weekly essays provided a chance to effectively apply lessons learned and test ability.

Enoshima was great. It was a nice excursion to someplace out of Tokyo and I got to experience Japanese culture with the guidance of the teachers.

Take the time to figure out what works for you so you can enjoy school and your time in the country.

I appreciate KCPs focus on writing as well; I’ve heard that other schools don’t require it but I understand it’s importance for literacy and improving language output.
