Class field-trips to cultural sites and Yamanashi Prefecture were satisfying because they give us a critical perspective on Japanese culture outside the classroom and outside Tokyo.

I really enjoyed the field trip during the group session to Yamanashi and the tea ceremony. Both of these events exposed me to Japanese culture, and allowed me to learn new vocabulary through experiencing it.

Take full advantage of the environment. Everyone is friendly and willing to help so if you ever encounter problems, don’t hesitate to ask.

KCP is NOT for people who want to come here to hang out in Tokyo and study a bit on the side.Its very intensive and requires a lot of work.But if you put in an effort you can get great results. Coming here has taught me so much about Japanese and about who i am, and it has been one of the best decisions i have ever made.

I hope to be a teacher one day and I was happy to learn from their example. I also want to thank the KCP office staff for their assistance! They were always available and willing to help us with an array of problems and offer recommendations to make our stay better.

I’m very thankful to have been a part of it, and I’d definitely recommend it to serious students. Thank you so much for the valuable opportunity!

I thought the two week group session was a great way to have an intense review before the main classes started. While I didn’t enjoy the hours, I think having that much of concentrated Japanese studying really helped me improve.

I felt like I learned so much in my short 2 months here; much more than I have learned in 2 years of Japanese classes at my home university.

It was nice to have a chance to get out of Tokyo and see the country side. Especially since Summer Short term students don’t have a lot of chances to do that.

Be ready to be challenged academically and always be open to try new things! Whether its traveling to unknown area of Tokyo or tasting food you would never imagine eating, give a shot, you’ll never know until you try. And as long as you’re super serious with your language studies, you will definitely exceed and succeed in this program!
