Experience Japan with WWU Summer Global Learning

Experience Japanese language and culture for yourself in the heart of Tokyo!

The Tokyo scene is a mix of modern,  traditional, local, and foreign influences, making it one of the best places to live and learn when in Japan.  It embodies the rich history, culture, and awe-inspiring progress of Japan and its people throughout the centuries.

This summer, experience Tokyo through Western Washington University’s (WWU) Faculty-led Global Learning program, in partnership with KCP. If you’d like an injection of Japanese language and culture, with cultural aspects taught by a WWU professor, consider this four-week program which is ideal for most schedules.

The first two weeks are language intensive, based on your own proficiency level. The remaining two weeks are a cultural discovery organized by Prof. Massimiliano Tomasi, East Asian Studies Program Director and Professor of Japanese at WWU.

All classes will take place at KCP campus in Shinjuku. Excursions and other cultural activities will take place throughout the program. You will also have ample time to explore Tokyo on your own, or with your fellow classmates.

The program is open to all Western Washington University students regardless of major or minor but anyone with an interest in Japan, Japanese culture or language, can find this program valuable. Non-WWU students are also encouraged to apply!.

Duration: June 23 – July 22, 2018. Application deadline is on April 5.
