Overall, excellent program and I for one am glad to have been a part of such a great group of people that I met during my time here.

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The Fuji-Q Highland trip earlier this year, mainly because I like roller coasters and riding them along with classmates was a very fulfilling experience.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most productive and interesting aspect was the chance to practice my Japanese with fellow classmates from different backgrounds and getting to know some of my good friends that I would have never otherwise met. The least interesting was the studying for the midterms and finals that gave me a sizable amount of stress, but nevertheless, gave me a good reason to study as hard as I did.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

The most valuable experience in the culture course was the trip to enoshima and kamakura. It allowed me to see life a bit outside of the big metropolitan areas of Japan and experience some of the older cultured areas of Japan.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Be prepared to study hard in this program if you truly want to further your Japanese proficiency. It requires a lot of work on one's own part in addition to the instruction given in class.

Any other comments or suggestions?

Overall, excellent program and I for one am glad to have been a part of such a great group of people that I met during my time here.

Testimonials

I’d say that the two weeks we got as Summer Short Term students before starting the actual Summer Term with the international students helped a lot. It prepared me for the intensity and structure of the program. I’d say the structure of the program and every day classes were very helpful in advancing my Japanese skills. Switching from some review and practice with my peers, to dictation, to kanji, etc, was engaging. I just think the intensity and structure of the program was ideal, at least for me.
