Readings- doukai - I like how the teacher went over the text and explained each part.
Why did you select this program?
I want to study abroad in Tokyo Japan. The program was cheap and had a built in support system in case I had any problems.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Katakana and Dictation drills I liked. I wasn't good at it, but it was helpful for listening. Readings- doukai - I like how the teacher went over the text and explained each part. Speaking with the Japanese guest.
What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?
The experience I had in Yamanashi: seeing Mt. Fuji, staying at a ryokan The discussion we were allowed in class was kind of interesting
Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?
I appreciate that my teachers were willing to help me outside of class. I was concerned with my low speaking and listening skills and they did their best to help me. Part of wish I was there longer, but the other part realize this program wasn't for me as I wasn't able to focus and improve in areas I wanted.
